Diamond Jubilee 
On February the 6th 2012, the Queen marked her 60th anniversary since her ascension to the throne in.



April 2012

Royal Birthday
On the 21st of April 2012, Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her 86th birthday in true royal style. 



July - August 2012

London Olympic & Paralympics Games:
The 2012 Olympics was a major international multi-sport event which took place in London, United Kingdom. The Olympic games was between 27th July and 12th August 2012, although the first event, the group stage in women's football, began on 25 July. The Paralympics games occurred between 29th of August and 9th of September 2012.



Usain Bolt aka. "Lightning Bolt" - 6 Olympic gold medals:
Usain St. Leo Bolt, born to Jennifer and Wellesley Bolt, is a Jamaican sprinter widely known as the world's fastest man. In 2008, while just 22 years old, he became the first man to hold both the 100 metres and 200 metres world records. At the 2012 London Olympics, he not only became the first man to win gold medals for both the 100 meter and 200 meter at consecutive Olympic games but also the first man to hold 6 Olympic gold medals in sprinting.





Internet sensations: 'Gangnam Style'
Gangnam Style by Psy: South Korean pop video taking the internet by storm was released in July 2012 but the song and its accompanying music video went viral in August 2012. By end of December 2012, it became the first video in the history of the Internet to be viewed more than a billion times.


 November 2012

Barack Hussein Obama II - 2nd term in office: 
won the US general election in 2008 aged 47 and was inaugurated as the 44th President of the United States and the first African President on 20th of January 2009.  He was re-elected president in November 2012 after defeating Republican nominee Mitt Romney.  


December 2012

Kate and William announce first baby:
St James’ Palace officially announced on 3rd of December that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were expecting their first baby.
